I wouldn't buy one, but not because of Elon.
For many reasons, I would never consider purchasing an EV.
1. Batteries are subject to spontaneous combustion.
2. Range anxiety.
3. Takes too long to charge.
4. Tires wear out too quickly due to extreme weight and torque.
5. Very few mechanics know how to work on them.
6. Outrageous depreciation.
7. Bad for the environment due to mining of lithium, cobalt, along with other heavy metals and ultimate disposal issues relating to spent batteries.
8. Insurance rates are too high as compared to insurance rates of comparable ICE vehicles.
