China and Iran have signed a 25-year cooperation agreement. This is intended to intensify relations in areas such as energy, infrastructure, industry and technology, according to the Iranian president's office. Beijing plans to invest around $400 billion in Iran's infrastructure as part of the cooperation. Of course, this is not without a quid pro quo: Tehran has promised the Chinese preferential access to crude oil.
