The United States has some twisted hopes of France coming to Ukraine's aid if Ukraine is attacked by Russia with nuclear weapons. It's funny how America is still running around trying to bully everybody and France has decided to BETRAY America and not nuke Russia if Russia nukes Ukraine.
France is not stupid. France is not willing to have Russia DESTROY her while America stays safe thousands of miles away. France knows America is willing to press Russia into escalating the war in Ukraine as long as all the dying and destruction stays on European soil.
