Karim, you take the $$ amount of profit and divide it by what you paid for the option, so here is an example: you bought at $100 and sold it for $150 would be $50 profit, and to figure % profit is 50 divided by 100 = .50 which is 50%
if you bought for $100 and sold for $200 that would be $100 profit, so
I ended up doing great on AAPL, I bought it after it dropped and held it for great profits. Now DAL and DIS need to stop playing with my emotions, lol!
11.16% for me, saw AAPL dropping tried to sell but was dropping fast. , checked your messages to see if you sold, went back and sold for lower number. still not bad. thanks Greg.
I am only able to watch from the sidelines (for now) but I am enjoying this immensely. Great job Greg! A Kudos for everyone who has the ability to recognize value AND the ambition to 'follow through!'
I am still struggling to calculate the percentage of profit, anyone can guide?

if you bought for $100 and sold for $200 that would be $100 profit, so
100 divided by 100 = 1.0 which is 100% profit.
.10 = 10%
.25 = 25%
.50 = 50%
.75 = 75%
1.0 = 100%
Hope that helps.
so if I understood, I bought an option for $36.5 and sold it for $43.5. made a profit of $7 , to figure out the percentage, I follow these steps:
365/700 =0.52
or
700/365=1.19
Thanks
it would be $700 profit divided by the price you paid $3,650 = .19 and that is 19%
if you don't multiple by 100 shares it would be like this
$7 profit divided by $36.50 = .19 and that is 19%
same thing and you are on the right track!!!
i added to my previous position yesterday and just closed with 54% gain!!...thank you Greg!! Monthly donation coming your way!
I got around 24% when I got out. Thanks Greg
