When it goes full on 'digital' only they will not transfer any credit (present accounts) to the new system. It is one step from a 'chip under the skin that is also a transmitter. Just like your cellphones the towers will locate you at all times. Civil War II AND WWIII will be this year. Now you see why so many illegals of young men fighting age from around the dial have been brought in. They do not need 'votes' that too has been a SCAM like the Wall St Sheet Shows.

I get it but more debt is NOT a good thing in uncertain times. Besides I tend not to buy into a rising market. Thanks for commenting. Stay well and best wishes.

Yep. Gammon talks about this all the time... how would we know if we were on a CBDC? We already transact almost exclusively digitally... more and more cash is being made less and less convenient... this is all inevitable.

Cash is still legal tender in the US. Many business refuse to take it, They have to or just don't pay them, say take it or leave it. Actually the same with $50 and $100"s. If it's posted no big bills don't eat there> Ed

question is......when cbdc is in,,.....what will form the untraceable currancy outside their system ??

The dollar is dying and eventually you will be given a grace period to turn it in, unless your going to use it as toilet paper. after that it will be even more worthless than it is now.

And yet many countries are currently in the process of rolling out their versions of CBDC s . It will be interesting to see how similar they are as perhaps one entity is behind all?

Likely China and Russia and some speculate their currency will be backed by gold as both countries are stockpiling it which would make USD look much less attractive.

I think it would be great if small businesses in the USA would embrace a gold back BRICS currency as a giant “F- You” to the Federal Reserve.

Dean B's avatar

There is something like this but I think it's in an infancy state. People should diversify their holdings while they have a chance. If it can be printed it can be voided. These gold backs have real gold embedded in them. Of course they are worth more than face value. Here is information on the project. https://www.goldback.com/

Problem is you don't get a lot of gold or silver in the gold backs. as long as the business or states take them so be it. Ed

Everyone understands that despite the declarations of Trump or some other demagogue politician, the Fed will do everything to impose its digital dollar. Sooner or later, it's already done. The Fed will never leave China alone in this area of CBDCs. Surveillance will be even stronger!

Expand full comment
Dean B's avatar

Yes it's already here however they need to tweak it more adding high surveillance to the CBDC so they can restrict or limit purchases of items we purchase like meat for example since it's so bad for the environment they say or taxing for carbon emissions. This was a topic of this years WEF meeting as well as regaining trust. They got some deserved pushback though where a few said to them they were the problem from CEO of The Heritage Foundation as well as the Argentina President. Doubt they will be invited to speak in the future.

So being these are NOT physical dollars or marks etc. and they are digital, they can just....pooof, disappear. Will that be used to reduce inflation or would the CB's be constrained by some bookkeeping rules? Have to wonder what kind of weird rabbit the FED magicians will pull from their hat, or I should say, toolbox. It's been done in the past, operation twist, qe1, qe2, .......
