Hi, I am new to the news feed. Are most of these current trades day trades or does Greg also suggest when to sell? Also, when is it too late to buy these calls. Do most of you guys buy the calls pre-market?

He suggests when to sell. It will say something like, "consider taking profits." You can look through old posts to get a feel for what to expect.

That makes sense. Thank you and when he has a current trade are you adding to it until he says to sell?

That is a strategy, yes. That is what Greg did in his email on Monday, he said "Lions.. I did buy SPY March 19 2021 $362 calls, as I said I would likely do in my previous post. I added to this position already several times as the market fell under pressure."

The email came out on Monday at 10:18 AM CST, and at this time SPY was trading at 361. SPY had temporarily recovered from a 3 point fall from 362.8 at market opening to 359.2, and back up to 361.

Over the course of the Monday SPY steadily recovered until 2:00 PM CST when it averaged flat at 361.5, then at 3:00 PM more buying occurred closing the market and SPY at 363.5.

Over the Monday night SPY steadily increased.

Greg's Tuesday email came out at 6:56 AM CST stating that "... the market is poised for a nicely higher open. IF you got in on my SPY trade at anytime yesterday, you are about to make some money at the open. Consider pulling profit and remember to pay it forward."

At market opening SPY opened at 365.5.

Therefore, if action was taken at the times of the emails, from opening to closing, a reasonable trader could have earned a profit.

If the position was not closed at market opening on Tuesday, assuming an opening position at previous email, then one could have closed the position at any point during the day for a profit, as SPY did not fall below 365.

A maximum profit for Tuesday given the same opening criteria would have occurred at both 1:15 PM CST and 1:45 PM CST.

Of course, it is perhaps impossible to truly know the maximum for the day or the minimum.

Therefore, as Greg noted in his email today, "Remember it is never wrong to pull profits, make those gains REAL, and then open a new position with a higher strike price, same expiration date…"
