If you don’t understand yet don’t invest in options especially puts, if sold to another trader potential for huge losses once they exercise the option on each option bought. Study first, I am also working on it little by little. Use Mr. mannarino*s Website and chart look up. Hit the red button the page and then the chart is down all the way at the bottom, almost. Where it says spy on the top right, you can enter any stock.
https://www.optionseducation.org/ good educ. for those not familiar with options, they're the folks who write the booklet on options risks you get when you open brokerage acct.s
Keep in mind that Greg is not talking about short term trades at this point in time. He is talking about long term swing trades. He is taking many out to January 2021. Disney has been beaten down pretty hard at this time due to loss of revenue from parks. When those parks re-open that will turn around.
Greg, you are amazing, thank you. I have not missed one of your videos since December. I have not heard you once talk about gold miner stocks. I am just very curious as I know you are all about metals, and making money on trades. These suckers move much more than Dis, Tgt, Cost, etc. and have been killing it lately. Just curious, thank you !
Why? Did you close it with a loss? I said to buy options which expire out several months. I am still in and it will be a winner. You MUST give these time to work...
I agree. Earnings are coming up soon. I'm long both Walmart and Lowes as I see the stores packed during this "crisis". They usually are packed, more so now. Anything could happen, but these companies aren't going anywhere. Walmart handled March pretty well.
Being long just means you expect the price to go up, so like either owning the shares or buying a call option. Else you'd be short, expecting the price to go down, so like sold shares short or buying a put option.
i think i figured out my confusion. as a buyer of a option contract, you buy a call with option to BUY. with a put, to SELL back to the seller. very confsuing terminology.
ah ok. but the confusing part of options is this: buying a call, you can buy a call for a price that is lower than current trading. i assumed that was a put. but on the options chain, you can buy a call with a strike lower than current trading price. why is that?
That just means it's ITM, in the money. You can buy calls or puts that are ITM. It could be lower risk if someone were concerned about the trade moving against them.
Gregg
What do you suggest about people buying just shares
Still new and I can't grasp options for some reason
Please let me know
UCO killed me
Thank you

Greg how high OTM do you generally buy? Just curious. I understand the higher the greater the risk.
i think he's says "just OTM". to me that means in the .4s
Yes, I'd like to know that as well Greg. 5, 10, 15 $ above the current market price?
Thank you for all that you do.
Delta .4s that is
Greatly appreciated

apparently they are re-opening this weekend
Do you think it will reopen by then? If it does it will be with these rediculous social distancing measures and Mikey mouse face masks
on another search, they say may 20 th now
"just out of the money" would be a delta of about .48? and a price of 115?
Yesterday I sold Gold and Microsoft, (profit) today I bought Disney, SLV and Walmart. still holding MRO.

when you say long, do you mean with an expiration that is months out?
