Ventilators inject a set amount of air into the patient's lungs. Fluid pooling in the lungs can cause that set amount of air to cause damage to the lungs like overinflating balloons. Damage to the lungs increases fluid pooling in the lungs.
Covid-19 patients were mandated to be returned to nursing homes following hospitalization in New York State, despite a U.S. Navy Hospital Ship being available for quarantine and unutilized.
All of these things resulted in deaths of Covid-19 patients early on due to doctors being ignorant as to how to treat this virus.
I believe that the death toll was intentional in order to make us afraid so as to control us. Mostly, RNA viruses are consider weak and fairly insignificant, similar to the common cold. This RNA virus only hit as hard as it did due to it be 'novel' and our immune systems unfamiliar with it. Even then, it took bad actors willfully giving gullible doctors bad medical advice to bring the honest death toll so high.
Currently, the Covid-19 death toll is so high because the Covid-19 virus is making people get into car accidents and committing drive-by shootings.
