Is there any value in holding? When does time decay start to come into play with an option like this. I guess I’m asking if there is a chance I can regain a little more by holding another week? Thanks for any advice.
Personally I wouldn't hold it. The other trades closed at a loss CSCO and GILD both continued to dump after closing. So Greg's decision on those to close at a loss when he did was good, because it would've been even more of a loss to hold it.
If I had time to hold intel I would but with a Nov 20 call not sure how long I can hold before the time of the option starts to draw it down. Anyone know when time will cause the call to drop vs just bad underlying asset. ?
That’s what I’m hoping for. I’m just estimating but I was going off a chart from google search in options decay. The line went pretty much straight down roughly 15 weeks before expiration. We’re close to the point of no return.
well, as you get older and wiser hopefully you will learn to be grateful for people who are willing to help you, even if it is just giving you some helpful tips. And hopefully you will learn personal boundaries and not expect completely strangers to bend over backwards for you.
one day you will realize that NOBODY owes you ANYTHING and that you should just be thankful for what people are willing to give you.
You are correct. Nice attitude and kindness of any help is welcome ! But why are you jumping on people who ask questions ? Does it do any good ? There is a lot of people here who is nooby do we want to bash them because they don't know instead of explain them ?
I have burned -65% on this call, but it was my personal decision, i didn't win but i only put as littlie as i can because i knew this is a lottery ticket.
start paying attention to the false accusations being spread. does it do any good to start rumors about someone who is doing exactly what he said he was going to do? if that makes sense to you then ya- hopefully when you get older you will realize that nobody owes you anything and to just be grateful for what is offered to you. this is what the man has offered us. take what the man is offering or walk away.
start thinking like a mature grown up who has been around the block AT LEAST ONCE- take what the man is offering or go somewhere else. this is applicable to any store, business or service. if you dont like what someone has to offer you you leave right? or do you stand there and demand that they offer you more than what they are willing to?

Again i think you are shooting a wrong messenger. I'm not relying on Greg trades, neither Greg provides any service that people pays for it. If i'm in the same trade as Greg is and i make money because of his advice i will send some $$ to his paypal. But if you start point fingers in person and scream why are you asking him questions it's free.99 GTFO it's a wrong approach. People need help and not point a fingering around.
so what? why do you think he needs to tell you how much he personally lost? are you his accountant? who do you think you are? are you paying for a service? did he say that he was going to teach "noobies" how to trade options? NO! He said he would share with us his trades- when he opens them and when he closes them.
I am not anyones cheerleader. I do not even know the man? But it pains me to watch you people give someone a hard time for simply telling you what options he its buying and selling. Just a bunch of jerks. Really and truly

then look away if it pains you. i would pay for a good service as many probably would here. if you're going to do something, you have to do it right, not half assed while tooting your own horn of greatness at the same time. yes we all make our own choices, but there is a bit of deceptive behavior happening - whether it's because of ego or because of false light trickery.
I get selling a high risk play for a loss and move on, but at least fess up GM and post % loss because I can respect "I made a high risk mistake and here is my % loss." I can't respect the lack of transparency with what you posted. Noobies here are trying to learn from following you and explaining better a loss can be instructional for them. Thanks
fess up? why should he have to do that? explain your reasoning why you think everyone owes you something. this is what he offered you- take it or leave it. would you go up to the person handing out free samples at the store and give them a hard time for handing out free crackers and not free cookies?
Liz, I get you're a lap-dogging cheerleader for GM, but your analogy is pretty lame. Grow up.. I mostly like what GM does, but just want him to be consistent in how his trades went so noobies can maybe learn as he always gives % gain on ALL his winning trades but the few losing trades he has had there is no reported % loss.
Why does anyone's mood change just because the market drops? It is all 'part of the game' of Life and if you're not ready to suffer volatility BOTH WAYS while your option appears to degrade or drawdown? You sghould not be risking amounts you're not afraid to lose anyway! Its all a Roller coaster ride watching it seem to dwindle to nothing, but In ten days (or less) these Markets will all be higher and everyione will forget about the whining and tossing and turning in bed when they really should have just relaxed and got a 'Good nights' Sleep.
Nov 20th is a good ways off. Theta shouldn't be talking too much if it's a nearly 30 day option. If I paid $0.70- 2.00 I'd probably get out at a 20% loss max. Anything more expensive then...I dunno....I'd probably close out at 10% or less. I trade 0.20-0.50 cent options so I don't get out of positions anymore. I'm committed once I get in. Either I get some profit out of it or I let it expire worthless. I won't sell at a loss.
Hopefully Greg isn’t so damn cocky now. This was a stupid trade
I believe he prefaced the trade with extreme high risk for what its worth.
Yep, he said it repeatedly. Still think it was a poor decision, but what do I know
agreed, poor decision

I am not holding it, but also curious about time decay with shorter dated options.
Yes thetha picks up as it draws closer to expiration. It's not linear with time.
I was hoping he would reply but no luck...
Doubtful, but maybe someone else more experienced than us will respond.

Not true. I sold Cisco for a profit
Glad you got a profit on it, your entry must have been better. Aug 28 the newsletter said CSCO sold at 7% loss.
But to your point, I did have to hold Cisco for quite a bit longer and for barely any orofit
If I had time to hold intel I would but with a Nov 20 call not sure how long I can hold before the time of the option starts to draw it down. Anyone know when time will cause the call to drop vs just bad underlying asset. ?
I’m not a pro trader but it looks like decay gets very strong in final 15 days or so
Thanks for the info!
So I might have 3-4 trading days to hopefully get a little bit back ha ha

how much Loss GM ? you post the Profit %, please do for losses too
1 in 5 Americans have a mental illness...thats staggering

Gregory, a question:
you mentioned few times that when debt market should collapse then we will see an epic stocks collapse.
How do we identify the tell tale signs of the debt market deterioration ?
and that will be a very quick collapse without any relief rallies and or dead cat bounces, 8% 15% drops

I added INTC stock for a $1000. total cost holdings. GuruFocus likes it. Barchart does NOT like it. I understand the sell move though.
I don’t understand the sell move. Can you explain a little please. Thank you.
GM sold out his INTC Calls
I can only lose about another $100 at this point. Going to ride this out
God help us hehe
There is no point to sell it's over bought, let it burn if you have couple of them.
Got burned pretty good on this one
never buy pharmaceutical stocks, Chinese stocks and stocks after bad earnings
SHOP stock is a buy,
Same here
I did not buy it,
That’s a big loss boss. At least. If we got in at the same time. Then that’s a big loss. Do you think holding onto it is a good idea?
We have until the 20th. Right?...

I was wondering the same thing.
SHOP is a better stock, it dropped on good earnings and positive guidance
So did Ebay?? Trying to figure that one out
