Now cross reference this fact set with a what if:
What if Trump gets elected, and Elon Musk is given power to cut government jobs as he has stated he intends to. Integrate his actions at Twitter after he bought it (firing some 80 percent of its workers) and his belief that without extreme actions national bankruptcy is impending.
Now, under current conditions, with a trillion in new debt around every 90 days and the Fed basically unable to raise rates for being unable to service the dept produced, a continually weaker dollar seems unstoppable--and, as Greg believes, part of the Fed's ideal plan.
Under Trump's plan with Mr. Musk, however, while pressure to keep rates low will certainly continue, I'm wondering if the dollar may significantly strengthen, and in so doing, result in a falling spot gold price. Does that make sense? It seems to. I ran it by an AI (GPT-4) and it found no glaring flaws in the logic.
