About 30% of portfolio is in GLD & SLV (of course paper ETFs). Are these 2 ETFs as unsafe as the direct equity stock market part of my Schwab account? Should I consider both the stocks and GLD/SLV etfs converting to cash? Anybody reply would be appreciated.
It's rather straight forward, if you can't physically hold it in your hands YOU don't own it. Put another way, when you turn off the computer screen what do you see? Nothing and that's what you own.
Precious metal ETF's, how bout converting some of that to the physical asset and bring it home? At some point, it will pay those property taxes and trade for necessities.
