I have a question for all of the American posters here!

Why do most Americans wear a Canadian flag on their backpack while traveling abroad?

The truth hurts!

Flag-jacking (French: prise de drapeau) is the act of travelers wearing a foreign flag on their clothing or backpack in an attempt to disguise the country they are visiting from; this occurs most prominently in cases where American tourists wear Canadian flags in an attempt to pass as Canadians.

Not hurting, America haters living in America are more of a concern imo. If people living in America want to hate on America, they can find their way to the exit. If people abroad want to hate on America, that is literally their own problem and not mine. Doesn’t affect me. The only country I want leave 🇺🇸 any time soon to go visit is Jamaica because I won a stay, at a hospital charity auction, and I’d really like to go. I can’t imagine the hate for America is very strong in Jamaica. It’s taking 7-13 weeks to get a passport these days. Going to get one soon before the wait is even longer. I did all the traveling abroad I cared to do when I was a teenager. There is so much to see and do in this beautiful country, really why go anywhere else? Sure there are aspects about America that are far from perfect, I know, but it’s my home and I love living here. Basically BooBoo, with all due respect, I’m an American who doesn’t give a rat’s ass about people abroad who hate on America, they’re entitled to their opinion just like you are yours. Have a blessed day!

Thanks man I hear ya, appreciate you. Fact is I’ll go the north-side and post up right on the water there for a week where airport is close. Nothing crazy, no Kingston and no Port Antonio for sure. Not tryin to be tourist. Probably go as far as grocery store and Dunns River Falls, Ochos Rios to the west, but ya mon fr take no chances and no side shows

hmmm, interesting. Only The US and Denmark has a debt limit as nominal value and considering Denmark’s is a formality, the US would do best to quit the debt limit shenanigans.

“Like the United States, Denmark also sets its debt limit as a nominal value. But that’s where the similarity ends. The Danish Parliament intentionally sets the ceiling sufficiently high such that it will not be crossed, rendering it no more than a formality.”

And only 5 soon to be 6, when including Kenya which is “under the process of replacing the nominal limit with a limit as percentage of GDP,” have debt limit as % of GDP.

“Debt limits are self-imposed tools to facilitate sound fiscal policy. But in practice they serve as orienting goals or tools of political bargaining at best, and triggers of economic chaos at worst. It is unsurprising that most of the world chooses to have no such limit.”
