I appreciate your beautiful, well shaven face, your collared shirts, and your lovely ties. It is rare (and refreshing) to see ("such a young man") looking so smart. Your effort to shave and dress-up are a reflection of self-respect.....and an example to your client base of the meaning of "dignity". Thank you for your indulgence.

Greg.. The Dark Crystal is a 1982 Jim Henson/Frank Oz directed Sci-Fi Fantasy movie -- Your listener who connected this to Yellen is most likely referring to the Skekis creatures..........

Heres the plot: (via IMDB) Another planet, another time. One thousand years ago, the mysterious Dark Crystal was damaged by one of the Urskeks and an age of chaos has began. The evil race of grotesque birdlike lizards, the Skeksis, gnomish dragons who rule their fantastic planet with an iron claw. Meanwhile, orphan Jen, raised in solitude by a race of the peace-loving wizards called the Mystics, embarks on a quest to find the missing shard of the Dark Crystal which gives the Skeksis their power and restore the balance of the universe.

Heres a link to images of these lizardlike things: https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=%2bthe+dark+crystal+skekis&form=RCIR&first=1

GERMANY / CAR MARKET

The current high level of inflation is unsettling many motorists and causing their purchase intentions to fall to a historic low. And it is shifting their preferences when it comes to buying a car, in some cases drastically. Not even one in five drivers (19%) has concrete plans to change their vehicle in the next twelve months. This is the lowest figure since the study first asked about planned vehicle changes in 2008. As recently as last year, this figure was 27%, and 30% in 2021. One in two is still undecided about when and, above all, whether to replace their current vehicle. Five percent do not want a replacement at all. A decisive reason for this is probably the current high inflation. Almost two-thirds (62%) of drivers (fully) agree with the statement that they would postpone a planned car purchase.

OIL PRICES SOAR AS OPEC+ SHOCKS THE MARKET

OPEC+ on Sunday surprised oil markets with an announcement that it will reduce its output further, by some 1.66 million barrels daily. Reuters noted in a report that with the new cut, the total output reduction amount from OPEC+ will come in at 3.66 million barrels daily, or 3.7% of global oil demand.

The Financial Times reported that oil prices had gained 8% immediately after the announcement, noting Saudi Arabia’s share of the cuts would be almost half of the total, at 500,000 bpd. Russia, meanwhile, said it would extend the production cuts of 500,000 bpd it announced earlier this year until the end of 2023.

GET READY FOR HIGHER PRICES AT THE PUMP

U.S. gasoline prices were up slightly week-on-week, with analysts now warning that the OPEC+ surprise production cut could hit at inflation. The OPEC+ plus announcement Sunday that it would cut production by 1.6 million barrels per day led to an immediate increase in gasoline futures, which will be passed on to consumers quickly, CNN notes. Wholesale gasoline prices as reflected in the RBOB were up 3.14% at 11:55 a.m. EST on Monday. Meanwhile, AAA showed the national average price per gallon at the pump as $3.506, up from $3.439 a week ago. “I think OPEC is reawakening the inflation monster,” CNN cited Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis for OPIS. “The White House has to be shocked and major-time pissed. It certainly alters the calculus for a while.”
