I've been doing my best to help & encourage other Lions since the newsletter started. I'm on it G!

Hey Anthony, Id love some help. What exactly are the trading recommendations from Greg? Buying long call positions? I get the newsletter, but have no idea how to take the positions that are recommended.

Expand full comment

He goes long calls to give the position time to play out. If he hits his targets early he'll usually pull profits if not close the position. He lets us know when he's taking a new position, adding to, or closing. The Newsletter's for swing trades or core positions. He's also in & out of SNP sometimes multiple times a day; he posts the intra-day trades in the chatroom. I'm no pro only been a Lion a yr hope I was of some use to you!

Damn, didn't know he was trading intra-day SnP... I could have used some intel on today's end of day "dump"

I used to be active in the chatroom until my work firewalled me out back in Feb. At least back then the chatroom's focus was on SNP, GLD & SLV. Greg will often respond to SNP or other day trade questions in the chatroom. I once loved the chatroom, but there's a lot of noise in there too!

YES.... I've asked and no one helped. It seems thst I am on my own. I have yet to try options, even after G.M. Class. I can't find the main room for trades that is mentioned.

Gregory, your awesome. Your words of advice had helped me a lot. God Bless.

what platform are you using Ann? Most platforms have some sort of option information

Thank you. :))

I am tradding with Charles Schwab. Yes, I am approved to trade Options. I'm just afraid to do so because Schwab talked as though I will lose a lot of money by tradding options.

Thanks for all you do Greg! I never miss a video and have learned so much! Not a trader, but have followed your advice in other areas. It is a nice feeling to live without all the fear they're pumping!! Have tried to spread the word, unfortunately more often than not it falls on deaf ears.

I think I am just not fit to be a Trader? My brain doesn't work like that? I have this image of having to sit in front of a computer all day long and just trade..the charts are like Greek to me... BUT, I follow Greg because he is a GENIUS with the markets....!

Expand full comment

Dont overthink it. Just follow GM's instructions. No need to concern yourself with all the "data"

It's really that easy?? How do I even set up a trading account?? Is that on there too?

Howdy, Lions! I've watched Greg every day since just before the bottom in March. I've been trying to figure out how to get back in the market. Can someone direct me to what a "call" is instead of directly holding a stock? Much appreciated.

Expand full comment

a call option is a contract to buy 100 shares of a given stock at the expiration of the option. You can sell for profit anytime before expiration, or exercise your option and buy the stock at a lower price and hold it or sell the 100 shares and profit. Most of the time you sell your option for a nice profit at anytime it is making money at a rate of 5% to 30% to 100% profit or more of your original purchase price and move on to the next option unless you want to hold those 100 shares in your portfolio. Just the opposite for buying a put option. Study options trading and I promise you it is not for the weak of heart...lol.

Can any of Gregory Mannarino's Lions help me with his stock picks on Schwab? The site has a lot more "options" ( no pun intended) that must be selected beyond the info Gregory Mannarino gives out.

Expand full comment

I don’t use Schwab. Do they offer trading education on their platform? TDAmeritrade does. I would think they do too.

Can you only buy when the market is open, surely that makes some sense but I just wanted to confirm

Expand full comment

Usually, you can only buy when the market is open particularly in the case of options. However, some brokers do allow you to purchase some shares of stock before and after the market has closed.

Expand full comment

Thanks for this info bro. I just noticed greg saying he opened a new position on MRK for $80 calls, does that mean he bought 1 share for $80? And it looks like he brought a previous share before with MRK so that makes 2 shares?

Expand full comment

No, not quite. Greg normally uses options to trade not purchasing shares directly. An option is basically the right to buy or sell a set amount of shares at a given price called the strike price. Usually, an option is set with a contract terms for 100 shares.

When Greg said he opened a new position on MRK for $80 calls, it means he bought a call option with a strike price of $80.

Expand full comment

Thank you JR, I think that answered my question too. So he does not buy stocks only options?

Expand full comment

He did have some shares before the market went down earlier this year. Greg held some normal shares of stocks in what he called his core holdings before. He did this at the same time he was trading options.

Expand full comment

Alright, right now I'm using the Robinhood App and I see these options of *Market Order*, *Limit Order*, *Stop Order*, *Limit Stop Order* and *Trailing Stop Order*. Not sure if any of those are call options....

Expand full comment

Do the courses at optionalpha.com, then watch Greg's "Trade Game" vids, and then you'll have it.

Expand full comment

No, those refer to order types. They can be used with both stock and options when you're placing an order. For example, a market order just tells the broker to buy at whatever prevailing price is at the time. A limit order for example is a command to your brokers to only purchase a stock or option at a certain price.

Expand full comment

No, I have pre and post market tradding.

Expand full comment

you can place an order when the market is closed, but it will only be filled when the market is open.

Expand full comment

ps: best to trade when the market is open so you see real time prices

Thanks for these tip my friend. I'm still trying to get the hang of the markets. Starting out I deposited $150 into my investment account on Robinhood and started a $100 limit order on MSFT.

Be sure to understand Greg is buying options, not stock. I didn't realize that for about 4 months and bought stock based on a couple of his newsletters and wondered why my% didn't match his when he closed out🤦‍♀️

Expand full comment

When you say Buying Options Michelle, what does that mean?

Expand full comment

Practice in SIMULATION mode. Don't use your own money until you have the hang of placing orders and understanding completely what you're doing.

Hi absolute newbie here, when Greg announces calls for Jan. 15 2021 and I am trading through TDAMeritrade do I have the option to use those future calls? So far I have only bought on Greg's advice, but I do not see that specific call date : Jan. 15 2021. And does it change the price of teh trade? Apologies if that is a dumb question :-)

Expand full comment

Not sure what your asking, but on Think or Swim, you'll see the Jan 15, 2021 contracts in the Options Chain tab. Look for GM's recommended strike price on the CALL side. Place your order at the "MARK" price not the current "BUY" price (always try and get in for "below ask" price). Ride it on Greg's recommendations. When he says he sold it, you do the same.

Expand full comment

Also in the action field is it buy to Open or buy to close?
