Hate to tell you but all of the suggested trades are very questionable. Do we really know where all of this is going?

Greetings, brother. I hope you're working through the grieving process. It's no different than losing a family member; harder, in some ways.

I have dealt with such situations, numerous times, in the course of my life. It's never easy: final goodbyes. ('Final,' in this realm, anyway.)

The great ones always leave a void in your heart ... and I've been blessed to have had some great ones, over a lot of years. My previous two rescues died eight weeks apart from one another. That was a double whammy.

Respectfully, Greg, if you've never owned an Akita, you should consider adopting a male one. Highly intelligent; perceprive; adaptive; loyal; quiet ... and, despite being a big dog, they don't stink up a house. 👍

Whatever you do, the fastest way I've found to get passed that void is by opening your heart and home to another. There are a lot of great dogs stick out there: just waiting for a chance to find another home.

All the best to you, brother. Thanks for your diligence and your fearlessness.

Never adopt the position that you have something to prove, no matter the challenge or challenger. You have already proved more than ample proof, sir.

Highest respect,

John M

It sacks that you can't edit a comment with this Substack app. Apologies for the typos.

I get emotional, still, when reflecting back on animals I lost, many years ago. Dogs are a great blessing. #MansBestFriend
