This might sound funny since you guys are all options trading but I need help. I traded spot and options is another world to me. I have a demo account but the menu and all the UI is overwhelming. Can anybody recommend anything?

You should not trade options until you really understand it. companies like fidelity will trade against their own customers. I recommend you get a tutor or really study and take your time. It took me a month, but once I got it...it's the best way to leverage. Greg seems to be a scalper like me. which is the only way to trade imho. Don't trade cash unless you really understand things. We are all trading against some very evil people who have taken control of the central banks and wants to kill us all. Greg is on the right track. ...watch you overnight risks, they can do whatever they want, whenever they want. so beware !

I have TDAmeritrade but what would you recommend? I was telling Greg, he should definitely use a better way to get everybody in a room so we can all learn, chat and trade. I told him Discord which was a video game chat but it have gotten soo much better to where even traders from other sites are using it.

Why in the world would you use such a distant expiration for a short-term trade?

I'll pick it up if I can manage to get in near the low today.

Nice move Greg. I'm gonna play some iron condors on it if it doesn't hold over 150.

So, if I bought a Call for Ford motors at $5 with the expiration date 6/18/21. Does that mean that I can sell the call and make $2+ profit for each of the 100 shares of the contract, since the share price is around $7.10 right now?

Expand full comment

Ohhh, I would lose because of the cost of the contract if I were to exercise the option.

Selling and exercising are totally different

Yup, still learning. I wish I had more capital but at the same time it's good so that I can learn without risking much.

Question/comment about Ebay. It was below $55 this morning, so I bought options at this price, same target date. Am up on this now. Bought before email on increasing position at $60. Why wouldn't you recommend buying $55 options to cushion position?

Expand full comment

60 is the target thus the call position...

Expand full comment

But why not buy at the lower price instead to increase your profit?

Expand full comment

$55 a call would be more expensive than a $60 out of the money

Expand full comment

you probably got in at $8.50 its now at $8.92

in at 8.76 , the extra penny is for Fat Cats at Fidelity

Probably a small hit then split. Basically, get around a 5-15% then go. This stock tends not too move that much unlike something like AAPL though we might get big gains if there's any vaccine deal or announcement.

awesome, thanks for the heads up.
