With all respect, do you mind if I ask why you always buy options that expires 6+ months away? Since you take profit quite soon, would it be better on options that expires sooner, like 2-3 months away?

I think Greg trades with TD Ameritrade because he uses Think or Swim. Schwab is in the process of acquiring TD Ameritrade. Schwab's platform is StreetSmart Edge. Schwab will be keeping Think or Swim when the two firms combine.
Be careful about trying to trade with too small of a pot because you need funds to finesse trades into profitability if they don't go well initially. You also need to be able to survive losses because not every trade will be profitable.
Learn to use call spreads and put spreads. They will limit your max lost but also limit your max gains. I use spreads most of the time. When you have a large account, you can use naked calls and puts.
Use long dated options between 4 to 6 months. Your gains will be slow but your loses will also be slow. You will also be able to sleep at night without having to day trade.
Buy or sell at around the mid point between ask and bid prices. If you are not able to do this, then walk away. If you are not able to buy or sell around the mid prices on the most popular stocks, then find a different broker.

Totally agree. I’ve said this to friends I’ve shared him with.
His track record on markets speaks for itself, regardless of his other views.
I happen to agree with almost all his other views too, but am still scratching my head on the Russia and US colliding to crater oil months back.
