I bought the dip in the S&P In mid-September and had to wait an excruciating 40 days to my positions to earn a profit. I held-out and got a 22% return. The Nasdaq is acting like that now.

I always ask the familiar question, where is the money going into and out of. If the bulk
of all investments whether stocks, bonds, commodities- gold, silver and the crypto space
fell that means there are investors holding funds out of any of these positions as well as
selling away positions so the red in all sectors. That normally does "not" happen as if
investors are concerned about international instability and/or market "uncertainty"
then they would generally move into gold and silver and cash put in their local small
bank or home to wait out the markets until there is some type of clarity in the "markets".
I don't think this will happen any time soon as there are players in the markets that
love the waters to be muddied so they can swim around the general investing public
underneath the surface of the markets doing whatever they like and wish to do.
Currently, there is "no" clarity in any markets but more so an opaque type of look and
feel which in no way provides any investor with any sense of resolution to any uncertainty
in the markets and/or international considerations as well. So, be a market analyzer
with software looking for investment areas whether here or around the world and all
you see as far as the eye can see are major markets going up and down up and down
constantly. In the Us, it is in consideration of the an economic slow down so less consumption,
income, etc. as well as lack of internal domestic production of just about everything. In
China the same thing is happening, the Chinese market is down and then it baubles
and even as we speak as to the our own Central Banks and the international Banks doing
monetary easing and so dilution, we now see this same thing going on in China as well
as Europe with the gym monkey called "Brexit" causing market fluctuations with Russia
banging on Europe's back door and the question of Russian natural gas being Europe's
only source of natural gas. This results in all markets being uncertain and wavering so
you then have to ask yourselves how would you invest under those macro and micro
considerations and reality? The answer very carefully and sparingly as the risk far out
weighs the actual rewards/profits or gains when positioning capital in those investment
markets. So, the teetering back and forth the definitive swings and then subsequent
up and down swings when you look at it in investment terms is based on your jumping
strike price if you are buying anything. If you buy at a high point of market fomo
you can eventually get your A__ ets burned. So, it looks to me this a preliminary pause
in the investment cycles and for investors that have no printing press to just print away
any loss they may sustain in new cash just printed, you're starting to see a pause of
initiating monies into positions. And, that's why you have all fundamental investment
areas actually declining ever so slightly as only the big boyz are willing and able to play
in this mess. Down here in Florida, we have hurricanes of high intensity and so damag
ability so when a storm is slowly coming towards the Florida Coast most long time
residents put up their window and door covers, shore up anything outside and buy
food, water, batteries, etc. so that "if" it hits, we can get through the worst of it and
if it doesn't, it just means we have take down the protections and put the extra food into
our weekly meals. Same concept here. In 1929-1933 we had folks speculating on margin
to the moon out to Saturn thinking they would be millionaires but then the bravado
died down and soon margin calls ate the most hungry speculators positions for lunch.
The ones that hadn't leveraged and had diversified survived that merry go round so
I think diversification is in order currently no matter what the potential profit is because
you can lose 25% but most can't lose 95% of their investment. So, in all circumstances
as Greg has advised only invest what you can afford and are willing to lose in any position.
Any Casino would love gamblers at the table willing and wantonly throwing their bets
onto the table because they know the game, the gaming table, the cards, etc. allows
the "house" to win predominantly.
I think it's interesting to note in terms of banks/investment banks, Deutsche Bank the
Cash Laundromat that people like to go to is waning and Credit Suisse just had it's
newest CEO resign. Does anyone wonder why? Both were up to the a__es in the dirty
deeds in 2007-2009 debacle. I wonder if we should do arbitrage on them?
