The US is no longer an opportunity society.

Economists who have spent their lives rationalizing "globalism" as good for America, have no idea of the disaster they have wrought. Or maybe they do. Either way, we lose.

Recession already here. Look at job reports and FT jobs disappearing. Even the manipulated data bad. Just a bunch of low paying PT jobs. Also seasonal adjustments, make it looks better than it is.

Lay offs like this have soooooooooooooooooo many implications, that's less revenue in taxes, the velocity of currency slows down even MORE. more unemployed people looking for less jobs available,..........................this is ALL bad news.

we were shopping at our local Walmart the other day and one of the employees that we know well told us that her time was Cut by 10hrs........and when you are an Walmart Employee that is a lot of hrs.....

One company laying off may be a business failure. But when multiple corporations & banks are laying off that can be a good indicator of the state of the economy.

this really scares me since in Michigan the life blood is automotive. If EVs aren't selling Jobs could be cut very easily. GM you are right start preparing.
