Not for me, I make a small amount of $$$ every month on XLE and XLF with CALLS and PUTS, and they are not that expensive and almost predictable at times if you track them.

You got the ticker symbol confused. He had puts on XLE to act as a hedge on his XLE calls. These sector ETFs have somewhat confusing ticker symbols since it's usually just 1 letter that's different between them eg. XLF (financial sector ETF), XLE (energy sector ETF, etc.

Hi,I closed out intc and xlf today with a small Gain on intc and a small loss on xlf , however my account is showing a Big Loss...dont know why? Im new to options trading any advice anyone pls

Thanks Greg, I think I'm going to hold my XLE PUT longer and see what happens, and this small hedge PUT looks like it might pay off as well as my CALLS too because I'm on each side of where the stock has moved in the past few weeks!!!
