The teacher's a bit more nimble than his students. Things change between his trades & his informing us of them too. Damn I've missed commenting here!

Mine autotraded when I went to lunch.

I just need to unload DIS. It's not doing much lately. Think I need to set up some mouse traps.

Tried to closed when I was 9% gain, got busy so I ended closing at %7, not bad. Thanks Greg!

Thx for your trade ideas!

How was there a profit? AAPL has been trading lower than when we bought.. especially in last few minutes??

Expand full comment

I bought at 15.275 and sold at 16.25 🤷

Expand full comment

agreed, it's way down. Greg's playing games.

Expand full comment

Gregs not playing games. I only bought one contract and im up 60 dollars. I haven't sold yet- the options are worth more Pete!!!!!!!!! DUH

Expand full comment

The equity fell but the option contract price rose - the premium on the option went up...

Expand full comment

Is that normal? I just bought the equity. Figured options would track that momentum

Expand full comment

No, that is not normal. It can happen if the options were priced low and volatility then rises making the options cost more, even with a bad move in the stock price.

He’s not playing games. I bought and sold calls twice on AAPL today and made 2.5%, for a total of $80. Not a huge gain, but like he says—small, incremental gains.

I agree, I pulled a few bucks out of a smaller SBUX contract. Nothing amazing but a gain none the less.

Expand full comment

er I mean, AAPL- not SBUX.

Building that house without a teacher are ya

Expand full comment

you're not building any houses, you're just having your hand held child

Expand full comment

You are right. Im saving money to have a house built for me... Better that I have someone hold my hand and learn the right way than think I know it all go around calling grown adults names like a pre-pubescent bully when I myself don't even understand the basics -like how options can goup while stocks go down and vice versa.

You've been following Greg's trades for how many months and you haven't even learned the basics of what we're doing here? My God.

Expand full comment

how did you determine that? Did I ever say that? How do you come to these conclusions? Sassy pants has been holding ebay since June and you recommended they go off on their own? Are you serious? Then you called me a loser and a whole bunch of other names for suggesting they find a mentor?

Someone that is holding ebay for this long has no business going off on their own and making their own trades. That stock should have been sold at a loss two months ago.

Pete, just a recap of what you learned today- options can go up when stocks go down,. I am going to quiz you on this tomorrow!!!!

im such a funny kook and all those other names you called me in that last post...

ok, i take it back- i made $9 off Greg's trade. i took a smaller position than him so the return was likewise.

Expand full comment

Depending on when you bought and sold, there was a $1+ difference from buy to sell (on my end at least).

Expand full comment

I don’t do the options, just buy the stock. Figured it would track accordingly but sounds like it doesn’t at all!!!

Expand full comment

No, it's crazy. It's really disconnected most of the time. I watch both my options and the stock price. Unless there is a big day for the stock, the options seem to do their own thing.

Expand full comment

Thank you for clarifying! How do you figure out which stocknoptions to purchase any given day if they don’t correlate with the equity itself?

Expand full comment

In terms of options, I buy the options Greg recommends (and others I have a gut feeling on - like HD and LOW during early COVID). I also buy/sell GLD and SLV options, which Greg and others don't recommend much.

Usually, if I have time, I buy the options Greg recommends at a limit lower than the last traded price. Once it's up 3-4%, I put a limit sell in higher than the last traded price. Sometimes I can ride the waves of this a few times before Greg sends out the sell call. Sometimes I can only do it the 1 time.

In terms of equity/stock, I 100% subscribe and buy Motley Fool Stock Advisor and IPO trailblazers. I tried my own thing in the past with dividend stocks and did so-so. After my wife turned 100k into 500k over a period of 6 years using Motely Fool Stock Advisor (mainly TTD), I started myself and am quite happy. Big swings though.

Chris- I love it! I love you and the other folks on this chat who give useful information. Like most, I work 45 plus hours a week. I am an optimist about learning how to make money in the stock market. Thank you for taking the time!

You're proud of 3.5%? I'm up 125% in AAPL this year. What are you doing wrong?
