I remember when GM first ever mentioned watch out for oil to super spike, I just loaded up oil futures as much as I can, not even bothered to wait for pull back.

Make a killing in oil, gas and palladium. Physical gold and silver is a bonus.

Soon the hedge fund will have to cover their epic ass long term treasury shorts. I have load to sell with premiums.

I own Gazprom that is sinking like a stone... is this justified?

Your call. I bought a bunch today, plus a few other Russian commodity stocks. Some of these were damn cheap BEFORE this insane 40-45% drop. I think people are maybe more scared of their own governments stopping them from trading these names, even though they're some of the largest suppliers in the world.

I added a chunk to my PHOSAGRO position. This Russian Fertiliser company exports massively to Europe, and Europe's agriculture cannot cope without its products. Also Phosagro has made huge efforts to appear as a caring company, winning ESG prices etc... it dropped a lot today. I don't think this one is at risk. plus it has huge dividends too.

Yould you care to share which companies you have added to ? I understand if you don't want to...

Polymetal is my main pick - I'm super-bullish on mining and this one looks great to me. Can only trade London-listed stocks with my broker, so somewhat limited choice! Looking at Rosneft but haven't bought any yet.

Am thinking about buying Gazprom. Problem is its priced in USD. Can sell its Gaz to China and elswhere will be paid in Euro and Gold. No prob for Gazprom itself maybe a big problem for the stock.

Today, I doubled down on the RSX. Also my UEC is very happy

Hope UEC will skyrocket. Tenbagger.

I don't think that is the nature of the problem. IMO it becomes a problem if Gazprom is delisted from London in particular.

Can also sell its Gaz to USA and USA can sell it to Europe because Europe is much to stupid to buy Russian Gaz anymore. Took part in the Olympic Games in China but claiming morals about dealing with Russia. Double standard at its finest.

Sorry but again I disagree. Western Europe today, would not survive another winter if it was cut off from Russian Gas supply entirely. And both parties know this damn well!

Expand full comment

It IS cut of from russian Gaz. Clown Chancellor of Germany told us they will solve the problem till next winter with Hydrogen. Hahaha, what a loser. Truth is U.S.A, will deliver. People will have to pay the/any price. Imo part of the plan.

NS2 has been condemned. But Russian Gas enters Europe thru plenty of other routes.

And the problem with US liquified Gas is that is is much more expensive!+ Europe does not have the necessary infrastructure (ports etc..) + I don't think that the US can produce enough Nat Gas for itself and to fulfil 45% of Europe's needs (currently supplied by Russia).

IT would be a catastrophy for Europe's Industry, not to mention the increase in Inflation. In France the "Gillets Jaunes" occupied Paris for 6 months because of a much smaller increase on petrol.

To stop importing Gas from Russia = political suicide for European leaders and could even be the spark that kills the EU institution (which I would view as a good thing BTW)

the situation in many of the "rich" European Nations is very "touch and go" as it is aready. A Major increase in Energy prices, or another major Islamic Terror attack, I believe could be the spark for a major popular uprising. And I mean by the European people, not just another black block kiddy protest, or a pink hat demonstration!

Russia know this, even our incompetent "leaders" in Europe know it (Biden and Harris probably don't have a clue though).

The West cannot do anything significant to "punish Putin"

Every single sanction will punish the European people far more. And should Putin decide to no longer send Gas to Europe, then Europe is truly fucked!

So we talk tough to PUTIN, meanwhile he laughs because he has a strong grip on the EU leaders balls!

Hello my friend. I own a position in the CORN etf. I was a bit late to purchase the WEAT etf. I could be wrong, but I think that the wheat price is in a solid uptrend.

I base my conclusion on wheat's relatively intense need for potash and nitrogen. these fertilisers were already expensive due to high prices for natural gas, before Ukraine!

I am told that the weather has been very dry of late in America as well, so many farmers are choosing to switch from Wheat to Soy. Reducing the supply of wheat thereby also increasing its price.

And now the final uncertainty around the sanctions they put on Russia. Russia is the number 1 or 2 supplier for all of these fertilisers Putin, due to the difficult situation before the war had announced that Russia would stop exporting certain fertilisers for a period of 2 or 3 months, to make sure his domestic market was supplied in priority.

It is anyone's guess what else he might do.

This is just some friendly advice. I am invested in fertiliser producing companies, and this is how I came across this information. But as always I could be wrong and you must trust your own jugment! Peace!
