It's like casino rules the odds are overall in the house' favor so over time you lose. Another common example are expiring gift cards, statbucks reward points etc. Another example Costco starting this year no longer offers cash reward only direct deposit - thats another effort to eliminate cash. Which makes me wonder what happens to physical gold and silver if for ordinary people it is only good for barter? Could the corporate system force everything to be digital or tokenized or will society diverge or some sort of hybrid? neo feudal system?
