I would also encourage everyone to take every opportunity to teach those you help feed, what they can do to feed themselves. Babylon has raised several generations of people who rely on others to feed them. What happens to them when those who know how to produce food are no longer around to feed them.

Teach a man to fish.

Start a community garden. Those who participate in the work, get the fruits of their labor.

Otherwise, there will always be a hand out looking for you to fill it with food.

Do you know how to start a community garden? My house is on 7 acres of mostly wooded land, but there is a cleared 1/2 acre on it, that could be used for the community garden. I have a vegetable garden, up near were my house is, so I know a little bit about gardening. (I'm not an expert). Thank you.

Talk to members of your community. See if there are garden clubs, a high school agricultural class, fellow gardeners, 4H clubs, etc. that would be interested in gardening part of your available area. You should have a county agriculture extension agent that might be able to assist. Do some research online for copies of written agreements that others have used for a community garden. Start small and grow from there. Word of mouth still works!

I would be interested in putting some local energy in motion. My current plan is growing more food than my family can eat and distributing the remaining throughout the community. I would welcome other ideas and ways to move into active service.

I make homemade goats milk soap and homemade whipped body cream. I also use organic essential oils, like Myrrh, and Chamomile, and infused sunflower oil with mullen, that makes the skin feel like silk. I just got baby chickens 4-weeks ago, for eggs. I also have a non-GMO, or chemicals vegetable garden, and saving the seeds, for next year's planting. If there is anything I can do to help out. I know how to fish. (I am not an expert) but I could teach younger people how to do these basic skills. Home made bread, baking, river fishing, caring for chickens, gardening. DIY home maker projects. I plan to give my extra eggs, once my chickens start laying eggs, to the town food panty. I usually give my excess soaps, and body cream to people in town. It would be awesome to teach young folks HOW to do these things, like Woodworker1 suggests.

Hey Greg - commented on your other (2) posts about your vision, but I would like to raise my hand to start something with you on this.

I will need your help/guidance on how to get started or just pick your thoughts on it.

I think starting a Discord / Community will be a good start. I am not who likes to be infront of ppl, but I do feel a "calling" to start doing something with the skills I have collected so far.

I support food drives and support local small business. I have found it difficult to talk to people about our bad economic situations unless they are thinking about it. Others are thinking about their personal situations and it depressing to add another problem. I try to meet people where they are the best I can.
