I'm growing increasingly concerned by what we're seeing playing out in the cities of America. I really am beginning to believe that we're headed to a worst-case scenario. We're RACING to Venezuela status. Confidence in the dollar is already waning. My great fear now is when we're at our lowest, sometime after the election, China or Russia or both or whoever else will say Screw You USA w/your funny $$$, we want Oil or Silver or Gold or Steel, Copper, whatever for payment; and that's Game Over for the US economy. We face plant. We're already crashing to the canvas as I type :(.

The crazy rioters and looters knocked out all the windows, set on fire and destroyed Birmingham Alabama last night. I live 50 miles south of there and way out in the woods some we are safe, but the cops just sat there and let them do it??? If I would have been there and seen that I would be in jail this morning because I would have had take them out like the cops should have??? Getting very scary and I'm on high alert even way out here in the country because robbers and looters have been hitting homes and stealing vehicles and guns near my home, that is until they mess up and rob the wrong redneck!!!

Getting to close to home!!!!

what about the "fed" becoming the world central bank though....is funneling dollars to many other central banks. i understand many are saying we could collapse the dollar...but it seems too powerful for that to happen?

Good point, the Fed's dollars aren't going to China-no dollar swaps for them. The more we print the closer we get to the day when someone, or even no one, accepts the dollar as payment. IDK what the balance sheet number is to provoke that. The bubble always goes longer & farther than could ever be imagined. But I have no doubt, the days of magic & Magical (or Disney!) Thinking will eventually perish.

This is my first call option I’m new to the game

A little advice here if my Uber call hits the strike price and I’d like to take profits is it better to sell or buy 100 shares at the strike price? I know put options can sell at any time but with a call which is better to do once strike price hits on a call Uber been performing well and I would like to consider taking profits moving on to another position

Expand full comment

Steven you can sell a CALL option anytime too, and for your break even price when the option expires is the Strike Price plus the Price of the option. So if you bought a $10 CALL for $2 then your break even point at expiration would be $12, so if you are showing a profit now and want to sell and take profits without waiting until the option expires and exercise your option to buy 100 shares at $10, then sell now for profit.

I hope that helps!!!

That helps thanks for the advice I was up 13% tried to sell take profits unfortunately Uber dipped today so I’m holding on a bit longer pretty volatile position

I was going to sell then decided to cancel play out the position a bit longer until it hits the strike price or beyond

i'm new, but I would calculate which way makes more money unless you absolutely want to hold shares of uber

You can sell calls at anytime like puts. If you bought a call out of the money meaning you bought it less than the strike price, then it moves into at the money by reaching the strike price you can choose to take profits or let it ride longer if you feel it will rise more. One thing you figure out when you buy options in general is that when the option moves past its strike price you get a larger movement in the option pricing which is usually signified by something called delta for the option.
